"Oh, but this is fun!" "…Ok, what is it?" "You know that room you wanted to see inside?" "Yes…" "We are going to go inside and look." "…." Petty found his thoughts dizzy, perhaps it was being dead, or it could be the flirting shadows all around him. Petty dared not focus on them for what could be revealed, he had never experience death, but he was sure this didn’t count as being dead, just extended removal from his body. A tiny boney hand reached up to Petty and Petty took it without much hesitation. Slowly Petty found himself levitated off the ground, the dark shadows around him were still present, mostly concentrated in the graveyard, which unnerved Petty. Then he found himself moving or was the world moving around him? It was frustrating but Petty didn’t feel much but chills and found himself closing his eyes. "Here we are! Open your eyes!" Demanded the voice. Opening his eyes, Petty found himself in a Spartan decorated room, a table, chair, around the room many bookcases found their homes and the cleanness of the room surprised Petty and a bed. Petty questioned the need for a bed in a room no one slept in. Adorning the table were scrolls and maps which made Petty smile slightly as out of habit sat down at the table. Many candles lived in the room, many melted down to nothing or well on their way. "You know, you me and that lady are not that much different?" shyly said the girl. The Desk was littered with pieces of paper, a lot of which were twined with another as if someone had been copying them, a few laid incomplete, others complete and piled up with what Petty guessed to be pages which came before. Moving his hand forward to move the pages to reveal what laid beneath but found his hand passing through it. Petty found himself not greatly concerned about this as he started to glance over the original and a few words in, figured out that he had already read this tome and turned back to the girl. "Hmm, how are we similar…other than some of the books Karli has?" Asked Petty of the Girl. "We’ll, we all made up of parts." She nodded. "But difference is, my parts are see able, your parts are hidden, well most and the ladies parts are not too many compared to you. And you worked." Petty found himself perplexed with this information but found himself thanking the girl for it neither the less "Thank you, you have a name?" asked Petty. "No" "Hmm, you want a name?" "Ooooh! Yes I would!" "Ok, how about Lamia?" "That’s a pretty name." Petty nodded and faintly said, "Yes, it is," then set about looking over the room once more. And what is this? Petty had spotted a big book sitting open on a pedestal across the room ,setting about to walk over, Petty noticed a few details from the distance. One was it’s size, in fact it was the biggest book he had seen, and second a cluster of bookmarks laid in it, mostly finding their home near the beginning of the book. Petty stood over the book and peered down at the pages, he knew that he couldn’t turn it but he could perhaps learn something from what Karli had left the book open at. The page contained a drawing, not much different than that which Petty had in his book about creatures but something was different here. One was the writing, Petty had no clue what it meant, but guessing by the labelled parts and a identical notation followed by a sum of just as undecipherable marks, Petty guessed it was detailing the creature. Second problem Petty pondered on was the creature under examination, it was not one which he had ever seen before in the lands or in any books he had read. "I didn’t mean to hurt you… The raven told me to play with you." Softly but suddenly Lamia had spoken from behind Petty. "It’s ok. What is this book? Do you know? And these characters, are they her language," replied Petty thoughtfully. "……" Petty turned around to look at Lamia, surprised by the silence.
