"Sorry! I don’t know about a book, but I think we must be going." Lamia flustered slightly.

Petty nodded. He had no idea what a prolonged absent of body could do to him, but he would rather it not happen.

****

Petty woke up and automatically rose, there he stood and looked about the graveyard.

Day? But, did what happened happen? The girl, Lamia, the room? We are not so different….hmm, what does that all mean?

Stretching, Petty remained where he was, concerned over his night and what to do now.

Times passed as Petty stared out towards the graveyard. He had grown a little hungry, but still remained standing, watching.

Too confusing to spend too much time thinking about right now, perhaps later when I won’t freeze by staying here in the cold.

Petty started on his walk back inside the Asylum, down corridors, past cells, until he came to the last set of stairs before the foyer then stopped dead.

….since when do wounds stop hurting so fast? The healing cream wasn't that potent.

Petty removed the cloth which acted as bandage from his head and felt along for the book wound but found nothing.

What the!?

I said I was sorry, so I helped you a little.

…so last night was not a dream?

Petty blinked as silence stayed with him, and no reply from the voice which Petty guessed was Lamia came, so he set back on his walk. He didn’t really know why he was going to where he was going. Perhaps he would find out when he gets there was what Petty told himself.

Stepping into the foyer of the asylum, a low growl greeted him as a Dire Wolf stalked towards him stopping in front of the door leading to the belfry, which Petty had came to the Asylum through.

That wolf, Karli’s wolf, if it was Shadow I would say he was guarding that door, must mean Karli is in there.

Petty leaned up against a wall and stood silently in the dust filled gloom of the foyer.

Hearing Fatale outside, Karli averted her narrowed gaze from the stairs - which hadn't moved for the last twenty minutes - and took a step back, planting her back against the door she had left slightly ajar. Pushing on the door softly as she twisted her upper torso to peek into the foyer, she was immediately met with resistance and the tail she spotted laying across the crack between the door and the frame left her no questions as to why.

"Guarding the door does me no crowing good if yer gonna trap me inside at the first sign of trouble..." she muttered through the crack, throwing her shoulder against the door for emphasis.

The tail moved out of sight and Karli opened the door slightly moments later, peeking her head around. Her look of inquiry turned to one of near annoyance as she spied Petty some distance away. Opening the door all the way, Karli stood beneath the door frame and crossed her arms.

"You back again?" she asked him trying to sound more annoyed then she really was. "Don't you have a home to tend to or family or something?" she inquired, crossing one foot over the opposite angle before leaning on the wooden frame.

Petty stood admiring the comical pair in front of him before thoughts flooded him.

What a stupid wolf… family….I had a family once, all I have now is Shadow, and a over hyper Vampire who has too much time on her hands….I bet she is going to go mad without me, I just hope she doesn’t follow my scent here…..where ever here is…Shadow can take care of himself for a day or two, Probably be feed by Rebekh…

"I was never gone to return," was Petty’s reply and then nothing else, as he turned a side way look at the Dire wolf with an appraising look.

Powerful hind legs, jaw, most likely got a terrible bite on him, in the wild most likely bite and tear chunks off the target, this one seems to lack intelligence of the Giant wolf, but greater strength and increased vitality possibly the countering of this…

"Yer crazier then I by far," Karli breathed, launching herself off the door frame with the jerk of her shoulder and standing, dropping her arms. "Make no mistakes though... this is my haunt. No pun intended. If you wanna be stubborn and mental and hang about this place I won't be held responsible for what happens," she told him, turning back towards the belfry stairs.

"And I expect no more sudden house guests at any point each time I return," she continued, her voice beginning to lose itself as she disappeared inside.
