Petty brought himself to standing posture again and stood looking over to Karli and chuckled again. Inside he felt annoyance but amusement at the same time, words formed without thought but indeed he knew what he was saying, he knew more and more as he spoke, more than he had known last night.

"Have you looked up yet?" Petty said softly regaining his composure. "There are places you should look first before even thinking about claiming this place…..before it claims you."

"Ya yer right, I have died," she replied bluntly, stepping forward. "And guess what? I didn't have the pleasant little piece of misery this place is to stick around when that happened."

Unblinking, Karli cocked her head to the side and turned her gaze towards the phantom child jerkishly as she continued to speak.

"I avoid those matters I don't wish to address? Did I mention that by my hand I killed the father of my children? Did you know that when I was younger I was picked on insistently for being different, for being small. Do you have any concept of true death? No. Yer stuck halfway between there and now even as we speak," she continued, her head swiveling back and forth suddenly.

"This is not dead. What is here is a state of unrest. Dead is far more painful, far more traumatizing, far more unappitizing then anything, anything I have witnessed here or anywhere else in this realm so far! So bite your tongue and don't cry to me about weaving mistruths and being mislead," abruptly she shot forward, propelled by her wings as her cloak flared into the air.

"Because mistruths are what keep you here," she hissed at the spirit, nearly placing her face within Lamia's. "And misleading is what you're doing to this man," she sneered, reaching out without removing her eyes from the spirit to grab Petty's wrist.

Blinking, Petty moved his hand away from the snatch of Karli and stood back.

"STOP!" he cried to Karli "Lamia…..she is here?"

Yes, sorry, I had to talk…

Petty nodded to himself. "Things are not as they seem to either of you two, but I have things I wish to know…Lamia let me know something’s, I’m sure of that but hiding something…"

Petty walked over to the hatch and turned back to Karli and what he guessed Lamia would be too "…….I am not mislead, I have full control of my life and we all have a lot to learn…" With a nod Petty jumped down the hatch to the stairs below.

Growling suddenly as Petty disappeared down the stairs, Karli flung her cloak over her shoulder before glancing at Lamia, then at the bat covered rafters and leapt for the bell rope. Knowing weight wouldn't sustain her actions, Karli propelled herself towards the floor with her wings, drawing the bell to one side.

Releasing the rope, Karli dove out the belfry window just as the first dong rattled the bell tower for the first time in decades.
